State Senator Lena Gonzalez backs Tonia Reyes Uranga for Long Beach School Board
Long Beach, CA – Former Long Beach City Councilmember Tonia Reyes Uranga received an endorsement of her campaign for Long Beach School Board today from Senator Lena Gonzalez, who represents much of Long Beach in the California State Senate. Senator Gonzalez’s support comes on the heels of another major endorsement; last week Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn threw her support behind Reyes Uranga’s campaign.
In announcing her endorsement, Senator Gonzalez released the following statement:
“Tonia Reyes Uranga is the right choice for Long Beach’s School Board because she has a track record of getting things done for local children and families. For 8 years on the Long Beach City Council, Tonia fought to make our neighborhoods safer, improve public services and create a stronger, more inclusive city.
She is a smart woman who will work hard to ensure Long Beach youth have the opportunities they need to succeed in the future. I’m proud to support Tonia Reyes Uranga for our Long Beach School Board.”
